“Isn’t it a beautiful day?”
One day, a stranger approached me with a smile. This never happened where I came from. How nice a stranger is!
“Yeah, right?” I replied.
“On a day this nice, got any spare change so I can grab a Tim Hortons coffee?”
A homeless person asking not for food but for a franchised coffee? It was intriguingly persuasive.
This is how the homeless work in this city—they make me wish I had spare change for them all the time.
